Walter's ecology blog

My theory is that ecology is one of the most important things to defend in the world today but it is only possible if it is made possible for human beings and not only for perfect people. That's why I start this blog. I would like to share what I do and hopefully get cool input from you on what you do for a better planet. That is what I call ecology for normal people. :)

Cow's generate green-house gases

Did you know that a cow's digestive system generates per year the same amount of green-house gas like a car running 20'000 km?

Wow, that's weird.

This means that eating less meat allows to reduce green-house effect and global warming.... in addition of health benefits I mean. :)

BTW, remember, to "build" a cow you need grass, to "build" grass you need space and so there is also a deforestation effect jumping in here.

Hi,

My name is Lara Glew. I've just visited your site and I was wondering if you'd be interested in exchanging links with my website. I can offer you a home page link back from my Recycling website which would be (http://www.ekamo.org/) Page Rank 2

Your link will be placed here:
http://www.ekamo.org/ PR2 (It`s a recycling website)

As mentioned, your link would be placed on the site home page, not on any "links" pages which may be buried in the site somewhere.

If you are interested please add the following information to your website and kindly let me know when it´s ready and I will do the same for you in less than 24 hours, otherwise you can delete my link from your site.

TITLE: Recycling
URL: http://www.snaffleup.co.uk
DESCRIPTION: SnaffleUp The recycling web site designed to keep useful items out of landfill.

Or you can use the following html code:

Recycling Site - SnaffleUp The recycling web site designed to keep useful items out of landfill.

Want my link exactly so:

Recycling

I hope you have a nice day and thank you for your time,

Lara Glew

I am very concerned about grazing. It is very harmful. I volunteer sometimes at the Carrizo Plain National Monument and I think grazing is a big problem. I also want to let people know that it is politically very serious. In 2005 Marlene Braun who managed the monument committed suicide bc of workplace bullying.

Yes cows generate greenhouse gases but this is nothing compared to industry, vehicles, and deforestation, cows emit methane, and I have read here http://ecologicalproblems.blogspot.com/2008/12/greenhouse-gases-definition-and-their.html that the most important greenhouse gas is CO2 so we cannot blame cows for global warming but ourselves

Hi, my name is Marta, and I wanted to ask where can I send you a Press Report. There is a new eco children's book called "The Plastic Bottle", written and illustrated by Claudia Alvarado, and that wants to promove recycling among the children.
Is currently on Amazon, Barnes&Nobles and Lulu.com. Thanks.

I don't know if you will answer this... but I disagree. The problem is not that eating meat is "bad", but the way cows and other animals are raised is completely messed up and unnatural. They are feed with grains, hormones and antibiotics, and kept in very tight spaces, which makes them sick and mess up their flesh. If all meat businesses did things right, all of us would be eating meat that is completely good for us.

Anyways, that's just my 2 cents. Thanks for sharing! :D
